God’s Counting on Me – Peter Seeger

It’s been quite a week. Another one’s coming. Pete says God’s counting on us.

About Gordon C. Stewart

I've always liked quiet. And, like most people, I've experienced the world's madness. "Be Still! Departure from Collective Madness" (Wipf and Stock Publishers, Jan. 2017) distills 47 years of experiencing stillness and madness as a campus minister and Presbyterian pastor (IL, WI, NY, OH, and MN), poverty criminal law firm executive director, and social commentator. Our cat Lady Barclay reminds me to calm down and be much more still than I would be without her.

  1. Thank you, Gordon! Pete Seeger’s music does so much for me, especially that one. And the sail boat brings back such happy memories, but it’s also sad because I don’t know if I can sail anymore. But, we still own the boat, so maybe I can do a short trip.

My surgery is going to be on Tue. if insurance approves in time. I’ve been somewhat nervous about it, which has been helped by some of the chapters in Be Still–the ones about death. But the dr. tells me that he can handle anything that happens so I really do expect that I’ll be all right. It’s just the dark of the night that gets to me sometimes.

    Thanks again for your post,

    Cynthia
