After reading the comments left on Herald page, it is obvious that group just did not get it.

It’s hard to tell what the responses on the Herald page mean. Last I looked there were only two or three people who commented. There were 47 “likes” on the article. In my experience writing on MPR, Minnpost and the StarTribune, “like” means people agree with the sentiments/views expressed in the piece. The piece was the Shepherd of the Hill letter articulating why we cancelled the series.

I read the article and the comments. The likes are what you look at., It was the comments by the three that i was commenting on. Two different breeds of cats.

The comments are expected and I expect many, many more whose perception will be that we cancelled for other reasons than concern for civil dialogue. The last commentator offered an interesting word on his/her own sympathy for the woman who tried to tell her story. The “likes” could mean anything. I choose to see them as agreement with the church’s position. 🙂 Even if the “likes” mean something altogether different, it does nothing to disturb our peace with a thoughtful decision clearly made for the reasons articulated in the letter.
