It happened on Block Island, RI years ago on the driveway of William (“Bill”) Stringfellow and Anthony Towne’s home, the temporary home of fugitive war protester Father Daniel Berrigan, S.J.
As the FBI loaded Dan into the back of the squad car, Marmaduke, the canine member of the household, walked to the passenger side of the vehicle, and – as if on behalf of Bill and Anthony and all things just – lifted his left leg on the front passenger side tire.
“It was,” said Bill, a theologian as well as Father Berrigan’s lawyer, “an act of God.”
Noting the FBI Director’s selective decisions that may affect the outcome of the 2016 national election, I lift my glass to Mamaduke, the latter day biblical prophet, for getting a leg up on the FBI.

…”would” of course. For some reason I frequently seem to omit the “d” at the end of would and could.

Carolyn, regarding the missing ‘d’ — that’s because, unlike yours truly, you never got one on a report card. J

Well, I failed Home Ec one 6 week report card. ☹️️ (Miss Campbell terrified me. Only good thing about her, she didn’t hold my ineptness against BJ.). BJ says she never should have been allowed to teach — various reasons.

Hmmmm. Glad to hear. Home Ec is the only class in which I never got a “D”.

Excellent. This is scary, though. Herr Drumpf’s disregard for laws seems to be spreading to the FBI, and that is ** very** scary indeed. Great image though. Huge kudos to Marmaduke; I’m certain he is in animal heaven, or in heaven with his family. That gesture alone woul be a deed sufficiently good to open the gates of paradise. 😉

Love the “Herr Drumpf” and kudos to Marmaduke. Perhaps you could amend the comment to read “That gesture (lifting his leg on the FBI) would be a deed sufficiently good to open the FLOOD gates of paradise. 😜
