What a brilliant essay! I’m reading futurist Jeremy Rifkin’s “European Dream” from 2004. His thesis is that the American dream is being supplanted by the Euro dream. I hope things haven’t actually flipped since he wrote it but reading Aubry it seems so.

Gary, I was surprised by what I learned in this piece. Haven’t read Rifkin’s book. I agree, the Guardian piece is brilliant.
