“Blessed are you who are poor ….”
“Woe to you who are rich [i.e., opulent]. . . .”

This whole thing is reminding me of a very old article explaining that rats that were too crowded quit working together and became each to their own… I see too much of this in our world today. The lack of keeping the minimum wage anywhere near where it should be by this time in our country, while housing costs, among other things keep rising, leaving many families homeless is a good (not) example of this… And then people are angry at the poor for not having properly paying jobs and are milking the system…. We only need to look around and wonder….. what Christ would have to say to us……

Maybe Christ would say again what he’d already said. Blessed are you who are poor…. Woe to you who are…. As for application, we’ve not done so well. Some things are just too clear for comfort.
