“President Obama’s decision-making will be guided by what is in the best interests of the United States,” National Security Council spokeswoman Caitlin Hayden said following the UK vote [to disapprove of military action in the Syrian civil war]. “He believes that there are core interests at stake for the United States and that countries who violate international norms regarding chemical weapons need to be held accountable.”
Hmmm. So…. what were Napalm and Agent Orange if not chemical weapons?
When you point the finger demanding accountability, it’s always best to make sure it doesn’t point back at you.

Hi, Gordon. Did Word Press pull this? I wanted to read any comments so far, and my iPad can’t make the connection.
By the way, I have tried twice to comment on Barclay’s ruminations on Martin Luther King’s speech and the current situation in Washington. Maybe Word Press operates differently when one is out of the country, since neither came through. My comment was: Spot on. (Pun intended.). Hope email gets through.
I am moved by your closing: Grace and Peace.
Peace. Carolyn

Good question, Carolyn.. Something strange has happened to a couple of these commentaries now. I don’t know what the reason is and am glad you took the time to write. It happened to another person who is local who got a message something like, “We’re embarrassed that we cannot make the connection at this time.” She wondered the same thing. I won’t speculate because….
Enjoy your time overseas!
Grace and Peace,
Gordon
